Pose-able latex hands

Hey Steve, Did I read somewhere, or am I dreaming? Do you have pose-able hands for your people puppets other than the new world's oldest man's hands?
I thought I read where someone wanted the puppet to hold something in their hand, with their fingers. But I am not sure if you have pose-able latex hands for the human puppets other than the Oldest Man's. I remember, I think, you said to hold something, they would need a wire up inside the arm for strength.

Pose-able Hands

I didn't announce it but we have put wire in the hands before. It costs $25 to do this. Depending on the hands they bend better than others to hold things. The ones that are "cupped" are best. You can watch the videos or look at photos to tell.

Don't some of the Amazing Apes adjust? I know I can move my orangutans fingers to hold a fake banana.

Aunt Lowe Lee (Actually)

April 9 2012, 1:28 AM

I am glad you like my Aunt Lowe Lee. She is wonderful! Oh my Gosh! Steve Axtell did a fantistic job on those hands. I shared with him the other day that my Mama Fanny lived to be 99. Her hands looked old and bent, similiar to this. She was a very hard worker. It is funny how when a person grows old their body shrinks, but their hands don't. They just grow personality.
I kind of figured all along that I was not going to be able to pull off doing an old man's voice that would suit the Old Storyteller. So, in the back of my mind, was sitting Aunt Lowe Lee, just waiting to come out. She and I are so looking forward to working together. Thanks again Ax! To you and your builders for another job very well done. Thanks Steve Petra. I think she looks very nice in her purple. She loves the color purple too. My favorite color is bright orange. My hubby's favorite is purple. {:->

Now she can run for the Miss Universe contest!

I have a grandmother puppet which I named Arlyss, after my mother-in-law. She plays my mother-in-law in skits. I explain that "my wife's mother wanted to come out to California to visit her daughter so I told her I would bring her here first class." Then I bring out a large box with first class postage written on the side.

Granny without the bun

Ax, I know you all could have done all sorts of magic with the Old Storyteller if I would have just asked. But...I had in mind what I was going to do all along if I could not do a man's voice to give him justice. Even though I tried several different ways, he kept sounding like my Possum. {:->
I love Nina Conti's Granny. I loved her from the start. I figured it out pretty quickly that it was the Old Storyteller with a gender change.
My Aunt Lowe Lee has her hair pretty much like most of the Older Granny's around here in my neck of the woods that live in the Nursing Homes. I worked in Respiratory Therapy for years and spent countless hours taking care of the little old ladies' breathing treatments. Most had the wild bushy straight unkept hair. Cleaned, combed, thinning, and all over the place, pretty much like my New Aunt Lowe Lee. Eye brows are a little bushy compared to most, but some could have used a good trim as well. {:-> She really reminds me of those sweet little ladies that I helped care for, for so many years. Nothing fancy, just sweet and simple. They would always ask.."How's my hair Dear?" I always told them the truth. "You look beautiful to me."

Pose-able latex hands

April 21 2012, 1:38 PM

Gang...Aunt Lowe Lee was introduced today to her first program. A huge hit. They loved her!
Ax...the New World's Oldest Man's hands were a huge hit with one lady. She came to me after the program and said those hands looked like her mothers hands. She loved the Old Storyteller that I turned into Aunt Lowe Lee as well. Aunt Lowe Lee reminded her of kin folk...at least the nose and hands did. She wanted a closer look. She really fell in love with Aunt Lowe Lee. {:-> She said I made her look so real and alive. {:->
Other people kept coming up to me afterwards and telling me how good my skit was. Some asked for my card or at least how to get ahold of me. {:->
It was so great working with her in front of all those people. I figure there were less than 100 adults there, but pretty sure over 50 adults were in attendance. I was an invited guest to do a time slot of entertainment before the primary speaker.
So Ax and Crew...two thumbs up from me for the fantastic puppet.
If we get a picture or two that are good enough to share, we will.
