I'm "Anonymous" (the secret writer above) LOL -- There' a glitch that sometimes erases a poster's name ("CC" in my case) after they've already typed it into the ID box, and I don't know what causes it...
Anyway, I only mentioned the dangers of encouraging "demanding behaviors/dominance ploys" because most novice owners and/or newbie Akita people do NOT recognize the fact that a dog who noses, paws, barks at, stares down (etc.) humans to insist on receiving attention-on-demand is not showing affection AT ALL -- If not extinguished, that type of inappropriate behavior can easily lead to escalating dominance problems in dogs who have a commanding temperament, which is a serious risk in homes with youngsters & visiting children, because soon the dog assumes IT has the right to impose "corrective discipline" on little kids by nipping/biting them to gain their respect & get its own way
