Response to Jimmy, a word of caution... |

When we have new visitors over Bruto will attempt to push his nose into them and sniff them and get all in their face. It very much is a dominant thing as my trainer i hired years ago pointed out to me when Bruto attempted to do it to him. I thought it was just a very affectionate dog but if you watch them they almost try and intimidate people in this way.
I started only giving him attention when I initiated it. If he came up and demanded it I walked away and ignored him. He won't do it to me but still attempts to do it to new people. I just stop him.Bruto surely has a confident and dominant personality he just needs reminders who is in charge if he takes that too far. Reminding him who feeds him who lets him out who is in control and then when he behaves like he should I make sure to praise him alot. He knows!
