Response to Suki´s first weekend with us |

Hi Lucy, the pictures are so cute!
Are you using a crate to train Suki? If not, get one! If you do not want to use a crate you are in for a lot of headaches ahead and honestly will have trouble getting sympathy from those of us on here.
If she potties inside you CANNOT scold her unless you catch her in the act for she will not understand why you are mad. (Which means, never let her out of your sight.) Personally, if I do catch them, I take them over to it, tell them no with their nose close to it, and then take them straight outside. She will likely go again once out there and give her big praises - go overboard even. And then go inside as if nothing is wrong. If she doesn't go again, put her in her crate. Wait about 20-30 minutes and then take her out again until she does go. She will very quickly learn that making mommy proud means she can be out. My Akita was super easy to potty train like this. Like I said before, the rule of thumb is they can go as many hours as months they are old.
Hope this helps.
