I'm not "anti-vet" in ANY way whatsoever (just for the record) but as students, they are educated in veterinary MEDICINE but do not receive "extensive cutting-edge instruction" in K-9 behavior, nutrition, or handling, management & training -- I'm not criticising Jordan's vet program at all (and maybe things ARE changing for the better!) but if you survey professional Vet practices in GENERAL you'll typically find them selling CRAP feeds like Hill's Science Diet, recommending "designer dogs" to their clients as a GREAT alternative to buying purebreds, and unwittingly passing out ABSURD info on "dog psychology" etc. -- All I am saying is that these areas of specialized expertise are usually NOT well covered in Vet schools (just take the very class we're discussing here as an example) no offense intended... | |
