I would have to say that in my situation this is true. We got Kimi from a rescue last September from a rescue and at first things were ok. She HATED the crate and managed to bend the bars and escape on a number of occasions until we gave up on using it all together. After we moved into our first house we left her for 3-4 hours and she managed to chew he way through over $3000 worth of wood trim, drywall, blinds and various soft items. She does ok by herself at home for an hour or two tops but much more than that and it becomes a dice game.
On the plus side, she has become more of a family member than the "loner" she used to be!
