NAR - But dog related venting

My friend contacted me today. The first part of her e-mail was about how her parents were hounding her regarding bills. Come to find out, her husband had been laid off and they don't have enough money to pay the mortgage and the credit card bills.

BUT, in the next breath she asks me to help her find a new dog. UMM.....are you kidding?!?!?! Last time I checked, dogs are not a free ride of care. I nicely asked her how she was going to afford this dog. She wants a big one, so I let her know that Magnum costs me $55 a month in dog food alone.

This just makes me so mad and why so many dogs are not well cared for and end up in shelters or abandoned!
