I have not posted in a while, but really need some advice. Yesterday I had to put down my Lab Mix, Cookie. I had her for over 14 yrs. She had so many health issues, was in alot of pain and she didnt want to leave me so I had to be unselfish for her and take her to the vet.
My problem is that I have a 7 year old Female Akita. Her name is Ricki who Cookie raised from a pup. She was her mama. My Akita is so upset. She keeps looking for her. She won't even wag her tail. My kids are finding her hiding in places all curled up and sleeping. She is eating and drinking. Just very sad. We are giving her lots of extra attention and love. I guess my question is are we doing enough to help her cope. I just feel so bad for her..
