Missing Akita

Hello,
Yesterday my 5 month old Akita escaped out of our back yard and has not yet returned. As you can imagine, I am distraught, and have been searching, calling, posting fliers, and checking with all shelter groups in our area to try to find him.

I thought perhaps someone might contact you when they found him. His name is Nikko, and he is a 55 pound 5 month old male, with a light brown undercoat and black overcoat. Black mask on his face, and white paws and chest. He's very friendly to people and dogs, so I anticipate he will approach someone, and then sit to be petted. He is wearing a blue collar with rabies tag & possibly name tag.

Could you offer me any additional next steps, or pass this along to your counterparts in case they are called in about him? I have attached a photo, and can be reached at this e-mail address and by phone at 317-331-1749. We live in Indianapolis, near 52nd & Keystone, but back-up to the state fair tracks (only used for 2 weeks during the summer, thankfully) so I would not be surprised if he ends up on the Near-North side, or in Noblesville.

Thank you so much for your help,
Sincerely,
Dora Lutz

That would just be the worst thing to happen. I surely will keep an ear open if I hear of anybody coming across a dog like this.
