Cora got another one last night, i caught her before she made a mess with it and made the hub take care of it. It was another small one so i figure the big ones know better than to come into our yard. Still freaky

I'm a wildlife lover, so I actually like possums...

You can tame a baby one & make a pet out of it (a domesticated possum is very sweet) -- However, both my Akita & my Borzoi have each killed two wild ones on separate occasions ... Sad, but that's nature for you.

Possums...

...aren't rodents at all: they're marsupials (the only N. American marsupial, in fact). Kangaroos are also marsupials, btw.

My previous Akita used to kill the possums all the time. More's the pity, since now I don't have any around and wish I did because possums actually kill rats. They're supremely useful creatures.

We have too many MICE around our place -- I wish the possums would whittle down THAT rodent population !

I know they are not actually rats but they still cause problems at my house! They love my garden have managed to eat my melons and some tomatoes and are driving the dog nuts! I'm sure they have a place in the chain of life just not in my yard : )
