The range and rate of fire of the Mk 108's would have meant that the Me 262 would have had to close to within 100 yards to give it any chance to score a hit on the P-80. In a twisting, turning dog-fight, that would have been darn near impossible. Mk 108's were good for knocking down B-17's and B-24's that couldn't twist and turn to get out of the way. The P-80, in the hands of a good pilot, could have scored on the Me 262 from 400 yards. It's accuracy is comparable to the P-38 that carried all of its guns in the nose also. Every P-38 pilot I have ever talked to said it was almost like shooting from the hip under 200 yards. A P-80 with the K-14 gunsight would have been an Ace-Maker in Europe. It is better to be the stomper than the stompee!
