Response to Sales tax in Texas is 6.25%. VAT in Austria is 20% n/t

but still the prices were much lower than that.

if yxou think this is a high VAT, here in Austria we had another VAT which was for specific products, labeled "luxuxry" tax it was for all kind of electronic stuff (you name it) Jewelry (I can understand that if we really talk about luxury) and besides some other things cars. (I never realized why a car is a luxury) Now this was dropped a few years ago and replaced by a new VAT for less products (which only means it became higher)

Just bought a new car and since this is in the highest available class (for this taxes) I had to pay 34% tax for that one add to that the fact that the fuel prices here in Austria are skyhigh at the moment (I'll pay 1,45 per LITER/thats about 7,-- $ per Gallon) than perhaps you can understand why I can only shake my head in amazement when I hear you (Americans) talking about your Fuel prices and so.

Keep on modeling
