And I would buy a Tamiya Spitfire IX if it's scaled down from the 1/32 kit. But that's a rule (I don't build 1/48) and an exception (I like Spitfires enough to build them in 1/48). Your larger argument holds water rather like a cloud. Yeah, there's water there, but it's not exactly accessible. And it 's all moot anyway. Tamiya put it out there, Tamiya will sell it, and maybe it'll make them money and maybe it won't. We will never know, which means our surmises, no matter how absurd in either direction, are neither provable nor disprovable. Tamiya has been in business for a long time--they undoubtedly have their share of financial turkeys, and yet, no one is inclined to stop Tamiya San from his flights of fancy. The Il-2 fans (all six of them it seems) get lucky, and the 60,000 Spitfire fans will wait a while (which they would have anyway, if the 1/32 to 1/48 progression of the Zero is any measure) to get their dream.
