Grey Green alright, funny how the mind plays games. I'm afraid I still have reservations about "83" being the color but, I hasten to add that I'm not saying with any authority that it's not. From what I can tell those "dark" green planes were the last version Czech planes quite some time after the Germans departed and that the color is indigenous to the Czech aviation industry. It seems that I need to go back and review why I've developed such a strong "opinion" about that late green. I do have some stuff from The Czech Republic about those planes. Perhaps I read something in that material to lead me to form the opinion? In a related note I've also concluded (sigh) that those so-called "Air Police" units had markings that were CRIMSON on the cowlings and wings etc.. That being a much different color than the red in the National tri-part roundel/symbols. What's you opinion about those colorful machines?
