I needed a paint from Tamiya that only comes in aerosol (Lt. Ghost Grey). I had no problem decanting the paint. I waited 1 hour for all the gas to leave from the paint. When I tried to pour the paint into another bottle, the slight shake of the paint caused more gas to escape. Yikes, I spilled about 1/3 of the paint due to the de-gassing effect. What I learned is, after waiting for 1 hour, take a paint brush and gently stir the mixture. You'll begin to see the paint bubble immediately. Continue to gently stir the paint until all the bubbles have escaped. After all the gas has been removed, you can immediately use the paint for airbrushing.
