which are indeed different from your link. A little sleuthing finds the info posted there is under a link called "Competition Handbook," which is advertised as a general resource for modelers and has evidently been available since 2002.

So it seems the rules have indeed been updated, as the IPMS website has a THIRD set of rules posted from Omaha last year, but at least these are identical to those posted on the current Convention site. A little webmastering might indeed clear up the confusion.

Hopefully this helps anyone else who might be as puzzled as I am. I sure agree with you; why should this have to be so hard? The allowances seem too gray. But I hate to lose to a kit that had photoetch seatbelts in the box, if the judges dujour would expect me to add an allowance to fix my "incomplete and inaccurate" harnesses and rudder pedals.
