Response to Query on squadron F4U-4 Corsair Canopy

...the Academy kit. The whole cockpit area of the fuselage is much too wide and its own (kit) glass is therefore distorted and misshaped.

Squadron sells vac glass for the Hasegawa kit. They SAY it'll fit the Academy kit as well, but I doubt it. It's a flat windscreen, and like the Hasegawa kit windscreen, the vertical braces are too far apart and too parallel. This can be fixed by sanding, polishing, and rescribing on the kit part but of course not on the vac.

If you want the curved windscreen, you want the Squadron vac glass for the F4U-1D, which is exactly the same thing. The Squadron -1D glass for the Otaki kit is a gem, just lovely. But again, I doubt it will fit on the TOO FAT Academy fuselage.
