Response to Looking for some information on a WEM Russian WW2

since AMT-1 was indeed a nitro-cellulose camo paint of light grayish brown color, something like "coffee with milk" (more milk than coffee!).
It's enamel i.e.oil-based equivalent (for metal surfaces) was a-21m which was supposed to be same color, in reality it was a bit darker brown with slight green cast.
By no means can AMT-1 be called neither "light gray" nor "gray".
WEM VVS paints are based on E.Pilawskii's book on VVS camo&markings and therefore, unfortunatelly, NOT to be trusted. This book is based on "flawed" research, to put it mildly. Author even today insists on VVS paints such as "AII Dark Green, AII Light Brown, AII Dark Brown, Tractor Green and others which NEVER existed in VVS inventory (WEM makes them though).
Currently the most useful information for modelers (NOT the best) about VVS color can be found here
http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/
and the most accurate hobby paints in the market are AKAN from Russia who makes both acrylics and enamels, available through Lindenhill Imports in NY.
