Response to Stormovik mania? Check the latest offering from Academy....

Model Rectifier Corporation "MRC" is the owner of the Accurate Miniatures brand. They also are the distributors (exclusive?) for Academy in the uS, I am not entirely sure if MRC has a legal relationship with Academy. I belive Academy is a Korean company.

As owners of they AM brand, they have the right to allow the AM kits to be sold under other brand labels, just as Collins-Habovic allowed when they owned the AM brand. C-H permitted cross-branding with Italeri. BTW, MRC is the importer and distributor for Italeri in the US.

So, we can expect to see a lot of the old AM kits come out both under the AM brand label and the Academy and Italeri label.

As for the cost of the kit it is based on what they negotiated with the Korean mold maker and add on profit margins.

Note that the box for the kit has Korean writing on it. Seems a strong indication of the primary market target for Academy.

As for the box, I am always amazed by those who buy for the package rather than the product.

There is no such thing as an unbuildable kit, just some kits one may consider not worth building.

Ive realized that most people ... tend not to be direct when they feel something is shoddy because they want to be liked, "which is actually a vain trait".
