Use of Tamiya Extra Thin cement for wing root?

I'm tempted to use Tamiya Extra Thin cement for attaching the wings to my model. I think I can glue the wing tops to the bottom first using CA glue, then after drying, fit the assembly to the fuselage and brush on the Tamiya cement along the wing root seam. But, I have to hope capillary action will wick the stuff down and make a good bond.

I haven't tried that before, so I am a little reluctant to mess up a model that is coming along well so far. Normally I would apply CA glue to the inner surface of the wing roots, spread the wing assembly a little, ease it up to the fuselage and if there was any oozing of the glue at the seam, wipe it off immediately.

Is the first scheme using the Tamiya cement foolproof? Well, at least clumsy modeler proof? Any tips on how to make it work properly?
