Response to DH Mosquito plans

1. Find the "plans" that provide the detail you desire.
2. Determine the scale of said "plans" (if not labeled) by using actual a/c measurements; eg wing spans, fuselage length, chords, etc. These measurements are usually available for the more "common" a/c, series, etc. Don't rely on a single measurement. Get a couple and cross check.
3. Determine the factor that will reduce/enlarge the plan's scale to your desired scale.
4. Set the factor into your printer and print the "plan."
a. If you do not have a scalable printer, check with "Kinkos" or some other commercial outfit for assistance.
b. Check your first print for scale accuracy. Adjust your factor as needed.
c. If you are scaling up, you may have to reposition the "plan" on the printer's platen between printings to get full coverage and then "piece" the copies together to get a complete print. This is due to the physical limitations of most commonly available printers.

I have done this numerous times when scratch-building. It is a little "tedious," but once you have your factor pinned down, it is kind of fun seeing your High School math being useful; and, it is the only way I know how to get what I need when I need it. Obviously, scaling down is much easier than scaling up. HTH.
