Picked up an Airfix 1:48 Jaguar GR1 kit at a toy fair on Sunday, I was really only...

...interested in it for the ordnance (sacrilege I know: its a long, potential 'whatif', story).
Got me thinking that it would be a shame to waste the rest of the kit (only cost me £13) and that a 'Raspberry Ripple' scheme bird would look good (RAE Farnborough, or perhaps the Empire Test Pilots School).
Trouble is, that would be a 'B'/'T.2' two-seat job. Checking out Hannants, I can see lots of Paragon stuff available (twin-seat resin cockpit conversion, flaps & slats, wheels, afterburners, Martin Baker Mk.9's, etc) but when I look for builds (of any Jag) here on Hyperscale, all I came up with was a GR.3 by Piero de Santis back in 2001. So I'm wondering, a) Is the Paragon stuff the (only?) way to go and, b) Does the lack of other modelers efforts here/elsewhere, hint at a problem kit I should avoid building anyway?
Interested to hear what some of you guys (and gals) think and anyone know of a suitable decal sheet (1:48)?
The Paragon set is excellent (like all Paragon stuff). The kit itself isn't one of Airfix's stellar accomplishments, but it's not horrible either. It's got some rough fit in places, and the surface detail is a bit coarse here and there, but overall it's a pretty good representation of the Jag. I think you don't see more of them built because the Jag isn't really a sexy airplane to most people.
Do a search in the "In Progress" forum over there for a couple of other single seat builds.
I thought I had seen some Raspberry Ripple decals (Xtradecals, maybe?) but I can't say for sure. I know there is a single camouflaged T.2 on one other Xtradecal sheet.
HTH.

Yes, 'The devil is in the detail' :-( . I now have some quite good reference shots...

...downloaded from the 'Net' of T2A 'ZB615' (RAE). There is a small black 'thingy' on the underside of the port wing near the tip in one photo, presume that's what you mean (there's no similar 'thingy' under the starboard wingtip)?
Will probably be ages before I get around to building one, but in the meantime I have just ordered the necessary Paragon and Eduard 'bits' from Hannants (more 'retail therapy', that's me broke again this this month!)
It's not a 2 seater but gives you an idea of the results you can get from the basic kit with a few extra bits.
Paragon are the only company I know that do the 2 Seat Jaguar conversion.
I used the Neomega cockpit on mine, Xtrapart (paragon) Wheels and a few etched parts and a Model Alliance decal sheet. They do a few different Jaguar decal sheets but they are a bit expensive
I found the kit goes together reasonably well with a bit of filling and sanding on th ejoin lines. I built the rear wheel wells but was a waste of time because you cant see any of it once the undercarriage legs are in. I also added some blanking plates in the air intakes so as there is no trunking detail.
The only problem with the Model Alliance decal sheet is that it has markings for all 13 aircraft which took part in Desert Storm so it's hard deciding which one to do...
Not only Paragon/Xtraparts did a two seat version for British Jaguar T . A French Company called "Hi Tech" made this conversion some years ago, for the Jaguar E, with appropriate biiig cav canopy, right ejection seats, cannon, wheels. By my turn I have added Paragon / Xtraparts to it too. Good Luck.
