Is it possible to convert the 1/32 Eduard Messerschmitt Bf109E-4 into an Bf109E-3?

Thanks in advance!
Martin

Sure... use the earlier canopy, problem solved. :)

And actually, that's just a very rough guide- there are literally tons of E-3s documented with the square canopy. The canopy style does not actually denote the subtype, but it's frequently used as a "guesstimate" point when trying to figure out what subtype a particular Emil might be.

OK, thanks for the swift reply. Does anyone know if it is possible to order an early style canopy from Eduard?

Thanks again

I would think so, although I'm not 100% certain...

I've never had to get parts from them; perhaps someone on the board might have one surplus to requirements, you might post over in Plane Trading and see what comes of that.

Which aircraft are you wanting to build?

I was planning to do "Yellow 5" of JG 54. It seems to have the early style canopy as far as I can see.

There were way more E-3's than E-4's, right?

But you see way more photos captioned as "E-4's". Major difference was the FF vs. FF/M wing cannon. No real external difference, and many E-3 were converted to E-4 standards.

I'm actually building a E-4/B that wears the early canopy.

easy switch, but I have to come up with a Fieseler-type filter.
