I was fortunate enough to meet with R. Lee Ermey. Many of you know him from the movie "Full Metal Jacket" or from the TV show "Mail Call". He was a very nice and polite man. I thanked him for his service and he was kind enough to sign a picture for me and a hat for my son and pose for this picture. Truly a heck of a nice guy.

Hard to believe...

"Gunny" has been acting for over 30 years (after 11 yrs. in the Corps). He was even in "Apocalypse Now" as an uncredited chopper pilot. I loved his "Mail Call" series on the History channel. If you ever get a chance to watch the goofy comedy flick "Saving Silverman" (with Jack Black) you can see R. Lee really play against type as a ex-gym teacher who's a bit (well, a lot) light in the loafers, as they used say.
