TIA

I liked them

Spray well. Reminded me of Tamiya somewhat. You do need primer for a good adhesion and I used LC primer and LC airbrush thinner

LifeColor paints

I couldn't stand them. I couldn't get them to spray properly after several attempts. They need to be thinned a lot. I only had success on about two occasions. I sold the ones I had. I will stick to Gunze and Tamiya, they are more forgiving,
Riccardo.

i will respectfully disagree

I agree that lifecolor paints do need primer - the adherence can be a little dodgy otherwise. but i have not experienced the other issues and in my experience they are way easier to touch up than gunze especially. if you have to take a brush to something you've already airbrushed it's not the end of the world.

however . . . just about anything over them seems to craze especially tamiya flats so be careful.

Don't like Acrylics for models, but they worked okay

They did airbrush over primer (Mr Surfacer 1200 in my case) okay, though some color's coverage was a bit thin, and blended well when I had to do some brushed-on touch-ups. Dried flat and smooth and seem to be adequitely durable. Look even better with a top coat of clear flat lacquer.

I like 'em.

I only use acrylics, so I can't compare them to enamels, but I think they're better than Polly Scale, which I used to use. They seem finer grained to me, and they have much better tooth. They spray fine and brush paint fine as well, although I don't brush much.

I've had mostly mostly great results with some caveats...

I have found they airbrush very well, especially when thinned with Lifecolor Thinner. They will also dilute smoothly with distilled water but the finish is more fragile and may even just rub off from bare plastic. Water-thinned Lifecolor is fine and abrasion-proof when airbrushed over a primer of some kind (including well-cured model master or Tamiya acryl or Lifecolor Primer). The look is a bit chalky in the same way as Tamiya flat paints but the grain is VERY fine. It would be hard to get a lumpy or pebbly finish with Lifcolor. They are also the best acrylics to brush paint with by far - super smooth with brush strokes easily hidden. Finally and best of all- virtually no odor or toxicity.

The downside? They tend to dry out suddenly in the bottle. They are also a bit expensive.

Here is a Corsair I did all in Lifecolour (except for a Tamiya clear coat and MM Acryl Flat Coat). Nice accurate tones on the USN camo too. I did alot of buffing and applications of pastels for weathering and the paint held up well:
