Does anyone know what the interior color was for the PV-1 Ventura? I'm assuming Dull Dark Green, but looking for confirmation.

TIA

Regards,
Paul

Hi Paul

That will work for the exposed metal surfaces, but the fuselage walls in the pilot and radio operators stations were covered with a thin protective leather/wood paneling that was British Aim Ministry Green. This could be a rather pale green colour. The photograph below is this material.

But would not that be on a airframe built for the Commonwealth air forces?

as has been seen on the Hudson, Lockheed appears to have used a color similar to the British cockpit color for interiors of Commonwealth bound aircraft.

Don't think so MD

That covering is from a US Navy contract Ventura that was transferred to the RCAF. It was delivered in US Navy camoufalge colours (enamels for US service, but lacquer on British) but it does have the BAM Green interior walls and leather seats. US Navy operated Venturas appear to have BAM Green interiors in the forward section, just like the Commonwealth birds.

Cheers, Vic

That may be a "Lockheed" color {just a WAG on my part) weren't C-130 interiors the same...

sort of color, even late in production? (correct me if wrong but I seem to recall a color like that in the cargo area, been a long while the last time a saw the inside of one though).
