The so called overtree version is half the price of the standard edition and the only thing missing is the decals. (and by the looks of it, the boxart) So if you're like me and always do some obscure scheme from the spare box or buy aftermarket decals there's some money to be saved here.

They also released a new decalsheet for the Bf109E-4 with some very attractive markings, I'll be doing at least three of the five offered, propably more so for me personally it worked out great combining the overtree version of the kit with these great new decals.

Cheers! / Anders

Bf109E-4 overtrees

June 1 2012, 12:32 PM

I just went through the order process for the Eduard 1/48 Bf109E-4 overtree kit and after seeing the cost including shipping of $39, I think I will just buy the profipak version when it is released here in the US.

The only problem with the overtree concept...

At least for those of us in the US, is the shipping costs. If enough folks were interested and went in on the order, the freight could be defrayed, or if the order is over $100, I think it's even free. But for just one or two of them, the shipping costs don't really make it work out.

Ditto...neat concept but I cannot imagine...

that Eduard gets too many US sales with this promotion. Shame too as I'd consider it. Lord knows I have plenty of decals!

Seems it's better for European customers... BTW instructions seems improved

June 1 2012, 1:41 PM

I looked at the PDF for the instructions and found that there has been several illustrations added compared to the 1/48 E-1. Thinking about it, instructions could be missing in the overtree kit, didn't check...
