Here is a sneak peek at a new resin cockpit set I have mastered for the Airfix/MPC/Academy 1/72 U-2A/C models.
This set will be released by Cobra Company in the near future.
I will also be doing the Sigint System 6 antenna for Gary powers bird, and the Ram's Horn Conversion.
Please forgive me for the dark photos as it was cloudy and sunset outside when I took these

Hurray!!

A big thanks, you made me happy! I'm slowly building the Acacemy/Seminar model. So far I rebuilt the inlets and the speed brake wells, but hadn't started yet on the cockpit:

There's a lot more that can be done for this kit, like various Q-bay hatches, landing gear wells and the exhaust. Keep them coming, I'll buy them all!!

Scott, in a world now dominated by 3d cad patters, it's hard to believe two things!...

July 30 2012, 6:10 AM

The first that these are not 3d printed stereolitography prototypes, but instead resin copies of hand crafted pieces!

The second: That this is 1/72 scale!

Frigging unbelievably cool patterns Scotty! Congratulations!!! happy.gif

Nuno, it's easy to CAD draw stuff, but talent to hand

July 30 2012, 1:55 PM

sculpt items.

Even though I work with 3D SLA, SLS ,and Polyjet here at the office. I still feel the best results are obtained by hand sculpting.

While CAD isn't a no brainer, it's not terribly difficult either. Once you have a CAD file it's easy to get a Rapid system to build a part.

But me, I still like to hand sculpt even though I have the rapid option.

Thanks for the kind words.

Scotty B

They look great Scotty! I only wish they were 1/48th scale. I missed out on the CE stuff. Oh well. Keep up the great work! Maybe someday in 1/48th?
