That was a straight line.

I understood the B was Flat Black, but I have only see an ex-service version.

Some of my research says....

Out of the factory, A and early B models came out painted black. As soon as they went through a depot referb they were painted medium grey. So you could easily have black cockpits and grey cockpits right next to each other on the flight line.

Kinda like C-130 wheel well areas. Some are gloss white, some are painted silver. Just depends who did the depot maintenance. I think you would be safe going with the grey.
