Gentlemen,

I have a new sheet going to print in a week (Monday, the 14th of January) and I need help coming up with a name for it. I had planned on sending it last week but can't think of a name myself!

If you have ideas, please share them here. If I choose to use the one you provide, I'll send you a free copy.

There are no historical ties for any of the four options. The subjects on the sheet were chosen because they all used the same basic colors for their respective markings, which kept the printing cost fairly low.

The AD-3 is from Korea and the AD-6 is from 1959. The F/A-18A is from Desert Storm and the F/A-18D is from 2008 and flew in OIF.

With regard to the cover sheets, which one do you like better?

For those that don't know, the Navy Blue background with the Red stripe represents the Dress Blue trousers worn by Marines.

Thank you,

Dave

I also like the second lighter background, easier to see the aircraft on.

Try this .....

January 6 2013, 6:04 PM

On the top
"From the Chosin to the Euphrates ....

at the bottom
Marine CAS - On Target"

I like the significance of the top one, but the bottom one show up better.

Wheels UP-Water
Wheels DOWN-Land
DO NOT confuse the two !

It would even work well if you wanted to do more mixed sheets. All Marine aircraft are close air support or mud movers so why not something a little different

How about "Semper Fly"?

January 6 2013, 7:43 PM

Dress blue trousers are not Navy blue, I don't recall the name of the color, but have seen sky blue. Bottom looks best. Name for the top - "Blood Stripes". What's with the WWI roundel as part of the Marne emblem? It was used on Marine aircraft around WWI.

Dress Blue trouser color and EGA roundel

January 6 2013, 8:24 PM

Ed,

I went with Navy Blue because the colors in my Corel color palette that more closely match our trousers are much too bright.

The WWI roundel was used in the Centennial of Marine Aviation official logo. I used it to pay homage to our aviation history.

S/F,

Dave
