Opinions on Ju 88 G-6 covered exhausts

Models I see tend to have the covered exhausts either in blackish burnt iron or rust colors. In the photos I've found, some are indeed a dark color, but others look suspiciously similar to the RLM 76 around them. Does anybody know what the covers were painted (if at all) when factory fresh?

The exhaust shrouds were the camouflage color at that position EDIT

Almost always the green. And may have been covered by squiggle if applied. Some shrouds were attached after camou, so they were the green. Glad to send pictures.

And I'm going to catch it for this, but I believe the C-6 was a singular green. Perhaps 71.

flame dampers

I believe he's talking about the G-6's tube like flame hiders/dampers, not the shroud types you've shown on the earlier 88s. I don't recall seeing G-6's having squiggle painted dampers.

That's a very helpful photo. I guess I'll go with some sort of burnt iron. Thanks.
