I've only ever seen a shot of the other side with that huge Orenda engine pod on the aft fuselage.

Nice shot thanks for that

I have a decal sheet for this aircraft and on the drawing on the instructions, it has day glo panels on the aircraft. I wonder if they really did that.

I am trying to draw up the pod and pylon to get it 3D printed as I want to do this with my Hasegawa kit. Probably the only B-47 I will ever do. Have to figure out what the differences are since the RCAF version is supposed to be a B-47B and the Hasegawa kit is a B-476E. Probably only something internal and some panels?

Cheers
Chris

Canuck B-47

It's was written in the book "Avro Arrow- The Story Of The Avro Arrow From Its Evolution To Its Extinction" by The Arrow Heads, Boston Mills Press, 1980 ISBN 0-919822-35-5 that the single Orenda Iroquois engine could power the B-47 by itself with the rest of the GE turbo jets set to idle speed. When the Arrow program was canceled, February 20th, 1959, the B-47 was returned to the U.S. and promptly destroyed, as was most of the related Arrow hardware.
