Anyone know why there is no mention of the rockets or bombs that come with this kit?
Its kit #04709. 1/32 F-104G Starfighter from Revell

Any information will be gratefully received, along with any photos showing how, and where they were mounted.

Thanks in advance. Alfie

Revell 1/32 F-104s

August 13 2017, 7:23 AM

The big Revell F-104 contained and extra set of underwing pylons and AIM-7/Aspide missiles that were only applicable to the F-104S version, but the kit did include any of the other changes needed to build the -S. in short, the reason the parts aren't mentioned is that aren't used and aren't appropriate for any version that can be built from the parts in the box.

I don't think so.

I don't remember the kit ever being released as a F-104S. In any case, even if you used the extra parts, in the box it doesn't come close to being an accuracy F-104S

Depends on what kit you buy

Revell has sold their old F104 as a variety of versions and with decals for markings for different countries. The kit plastic may include parts NOT appropriate for the boxing you have, so they are not mentioned on the instructions. Just because you get the parts in the kit doesn't mean they go for it.

The F--104 kit was originally released as an

F-104C in Viet Nam Livery. Hence you have the underwing pylons, Bombs< and the refueling probe. The way they cut the molds it also included the alternative rear fuselage for the F-104G. Later releases had the extra parts for both versions included. They have been relesing this kit in numerous versions for years with no change in the sprues. Virtually all of the releases have these parts. You just don't use what you don't want.
