Here's a short You Tube video on the making of the movie:

On the storyboards featured in this short segment, there's a couple references to "Cobra".

"Cobra" was the nickname acquired by Witold Urbanowicz from his cadets at the Polish Flight Training School at Dęblin, where he had been exiled as an instructor after creating a diplomatic incident by shooting down a Soviet R5 Recon aircraft in August 1936, while flying a 111 Kosciuszko Eskadra PZL P.11a.

Witold was one of those pilots whose eyesight was much superior to that possessed by the average pilot, and, combined with his prodigious flying skills and instinctive air combat tactical abilities, made him the formidable fighter pilot that he was, much to the chagrin of his student pilots. It was rumored that one of Dęblin's PZL P.7a trainers had his Cobra painted on it, though no photos have ever surfaced proving the rumor.

As most of you know, Urbanowicz was the co-commander of the 303 Kosciuszko Squadron during the Battle of Britain, and was the top-scoring Polish ace of the air battle, so it's fitting that he would figure prominently in the movie. I'm really looking forward to this one, which, hopefully, can capitalize on the success of the "Dunkirk" movie.

What a great story to put to film...that's what I thought while reading this book last year. I learned a lot about Polish history from reading it. Shame how they got treated and what was allowed to happen to Poland post WWII.

Looks like it could be very good - I hope they remember that 303 was led by

Group Captain John Kent, a Canadian from Winnipeg, Manitoba! He was known as "Kentowski" by his pilots.

I'll look forward to this movie.

The commander was actually Sqn Ldr Ronald Kellet who shared

leadership with a Polish co-commander, Zdzislaw Krasnodebski, who was followed by Witold Urbanowicz after Krasnodebski was wounded. Kent was a flight commander, along with Athol Forbes. The leadership was paired British/Polish until the Poles became proficient in Fighter Command procedures and the English language. The Poles learned quickly, and introduced their own tactics.

From what I understand, Kent will be played by Milo Gibson, Mel Gibson's son. I think one of the actors from Game of Thrones is involved too.

Hopefully they will have some of the more prominent Polish historians involved as advisors, Wojtek Matusiak or Franek Grabowski. I've been corresponding with both Kent's and Kellet's daughters (they have organized an informal association of descendants of 303 Squadron members), and they have been in touch with the director and producers to monitor the process.
