Well that sucks. Those are primary colors for WWII modelers..

September 12 2017, 7:53 PM

What about Acryl versions? Are those going by the wayside as well?

Testors Paints

September 12 2017, 8:17 PM

I'm not sure if Testors has deleted anything from the acrylic MM range.

Some of the deletions from the MM enamel range were real head scratchers, especially some of the numbers from the RAF and Luftwaffe series.

As soon as I learned what Testors deleted, I purchased what colors I needed from my LHS the same day for the Spits, Mossies, Fw-190s and Bf-109s in the stash.

Marin, is that the complete list?

September 12 2017, 8:18 PM

I'm noticing that RAF Dark Green and Ocean Grey are not on it. It'd certainly be nice if those didn't disappear (although I've been stockpiling).

Testors deletions

September 12 2017, 8:22 PM

These are from what I saw on the list my LHS has from their distributor's Testors MM enamel inventory which had been marked discontinued by manufacturer.

I double checked the list just to make sure as I was taken back by some of the core RAF and Luftwaffe colors Testors decided to axe.

A lot of stuff is still without power

September 14 2017, 10:34 AM

Cell phones don't work. Unless you have something like a cable landline and wifi, internet access is spotty. Many areas and businesses don't have power. I am trying to finish a house closing and the Title Co. is to be without power until next week. I did ok but two friends had trees fall on their houses. One doesn't have insurance, so that sucks.

Old news, as reported back in June:

September 12 2017, 8:30 PM

According to a spokesman for Rustoleum, Testors' parent company, "The 9580D International Military & Figure Enamel was recently discontinued due to the lack of support for it in the marketplace."

"9580D" is the catalog number for the merchandising rack for the following paints, which also include all of the US FS 595 colors:

Figure Enamels
US Military Enamels
WW II US & UK Enamels
WW II German Luftwaffe & Panzer Enamels
WW II Italian/Japanese/Russian Enamels
Modern Armor NATO/Gulf War/Russia
Naval Enamels
Stain Enamels

Some of these were previously discontinued or are now available only in rattle cans.

You really should replace that "disclaimer" avatar at the bottom of your replies - as far as Hyperscale is concerned, I believe that position has been filled for quite some time now. And in the words of Forrest Gump, "that's all I have to say about that".

And Tru-Color is releasing a host of paints to replace discontinued Model Master colors …

September 13 2017, 7:31 AM

… just as they did for the discontinued Floquil railroad colors:

http://trucolorpaint.com/

Based on their posts on other forums (IPMS, SteelNavy) they are extremely responsive to modelers' needs.
