That, dear friends, is the result of an affair between a GeeBee racer, and a D3Y Val.

Mitsuibishi Ki-15 Kamikaze-Go

This was a civilian version purchased by a Japanese newspaper and used for a 1937 world record flight, Tokyo-London flight to mark the coronation of George VI.

Lockheed 8 Sirius

November 14 2017, 9:56 PM

Most probably it was the ex-Mexican Lockheed Sirius, X-BADA "Anahuac" which was used by the Spanish Republican AF and shot down during Spanish Civil War in 1937.
The photo may show its form after being modified to a fighter-bomber.

Nt so sure about that. First, 3 blade prop with spinner cap. Also

November 14 2017, 10:10 PM

The front vertical of wheel covers fairs into the leading edge and is more angled forward than the 8 Sirius.

Aft location of cockpit, long canopy, forward placement of wheel strut fairing at leading edge of wing and what may be windows in fuselage side? Many attributes of some of the Northrops. But just a WAG

I am leaning more towards a Northrop product

November 15 2017, 12:07 AM

Photo has now been blocked by PB so I can not compare it. But maybe a Gamma or Delta? Pants /wheel gear fairings look similar to what I saw before it was removed.

Northrop seems not too have used the shaped wheel covers

November 15 2017, 8:40 AM

Northrop used wide pant legs

This is the X-Plane
