Hi all,

I have heard back from Tapatalk Support (Tapatalk has apparently taken over Network 54) who say that they have fixed the slow loading page problem.

I will continue to follow up the missing Search function on several Forums.

Thanks and bye for now,

Brett

Further News About Search and Format

January 12 2018, 5:18 AM

Hi again all,

The Forum provider has been in touch again.

They say that the Network 54 software is too old to repair, so for the moment any Forums that have lost the Search facility will stay that way.

The good news is that Tapatalk will be migrating the Forums and content to a new platform with new features and facilities. I hope to see a Preview of the new format in the coming days or weeks.

Thanks to all for your patience and bye for now,

Brett

Is that why we still get the error messages?

January 12 2018, 8:14 AM

When I clicked on "View all messages" I get the message "An Error Occurred".
The same always happens if you try to preview your posting.

Lagging a bit this morning but definitely not as irritating as before. Thanks Brett

Still 5-10 second lag. Typical helpdesk BS.

The big problem with N54 is that it's not optimized for mobile devices.

January 12 2018, 10:49 AM

Text is too tiny and spreads off the page. You have to keep enlarging, reducing and shifting to read a post. And swiping back, out of a link, takes you ALL the way back - forget about going to page 2.

There aren't these problems with modern forums, such as ARC and Britmodeller, because they are optimized for small devices.

I used to spend a lot of time here, but have gravitated to Facebook.
