Speaking of Connies....

Entering the realm of Whiffery for a bit, if the timing of events had been different, could the Connie have ever been turned into a bomber? The thought struck me that it would look really cool with turrets.

Lockheed proposed a bomber version (XB-30), but the B-29 was going to be a superior design so nothing came of it. Anigrand has it in 1/144 scale.

That is pretty cool looking. To do this in 1/72nd it looks like you would have to scratch the turrets as they look a lot higher than what is on the B-29.

Not if they had the PRTs. The Connies were known to Trans Canada Airlines as the best

three-engined aircraft on the Trans-Atlantic run. Even so, they had 30,000 airframe hours each, when taken out of service.
