Thanks to all who attended the 2008 IPMS Richmond Old Dominion Open on Feb. 23. You have helped us build the show to what it has evolved to thus far!
The 2008 IPMS Richmond, Va. Old Dominion Open contest featured the open system judging for the Armor Models and Military Dioramas. A total of 169 Armor/Dio's presented to the judging teams. All went smoothly for the first time out for Richmond. Early in the day we went from three judging tables to four tables each with four judges. Eventually we had six tables running with many new to the open system comming in and working with experinced judges learning the open system! Several individuals {not Armor modlers} appraoched our judging area and asked many questions about the process. Many also expressed the merits of the open system and its feedback that the modler gets after the show on their entry form with comments listed from the judges as well as their score. The Judges worked very hard and fairly for much of the day. Thanks Guys and Girls!
IPMS Richmonds one day event brought in 592 models for competition. A make-ntake program, War Gamers, and military vehicles on display as well as a local stock car. The club raffle was well stocked with many prizes and AMPS National organization held a "special" raffle for those that renewed a membership or signed up to the National organization.
