London Scale Model Show, September 15, 2007

Hello All:

The 2007 edition of the London (Ontario) Scale Model Show is less than six weeks away! Hosted by IPMS London (http://www.ipmslondon.ca), the London Scale Model Show is returning to the large, modern, well-lit facility at the Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre, right beside the former CFB London and the Royal Canadian Regiment Museum, on Saturday, September 15th, 2007. We’ve got lots of space for models on display (we are expecting 500 models entered this year, with entrants coming from across southern Ontario, Quebec, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and New York), as well as a large vending area and lots of cool stuff on the raffle table.

This year’s theme is “The 70’s Show,” with special theme awards for models of subjects from the 1970s, so bring out your F-15A Eagles and hi-viz Tomcats, Chieftains and M60A2s, Ford Pintos and AMC Pacers, Nimitz and Kiev-class carriers, and BSG Vipers and X-Wing Fighters (wear bellbottoms at your own peril). We’ve got some pretty cool retro-themed awards for these categories, and also nice awards for Best ofs and individual categories. Judging will follow IPMS format, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes awarded in all categories. We’re also expecting to have a few pleasant surprises in store for people attending the show.

For more details, including contest categories and directions to the show, please visit the London Scale Model Show website at http://www.londonscalemodelshow.ca. If you have any questions related to the show, please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the contest committee members.

We hope to see you there!
