Re: Tuesday's Matches

Middlesbrough available at 2.00 with Bet Internet and 2 others but only 1.72 with William Hill

Ladrokes and Blue Sq only offer Barnet at 3.75 for their visit to Dagenham. Paddy Power, William Hill and Bet & Win offer 4.50 though

Odds Alive are out of line with their quote of 4.60 for Nice, although William Hill and Paddy Power do offer 4.50 as well. Ladbrokes and Premierbet go only 3.75 for them to win at Marseilles

Ladbrokes go only 3.60 for Dundee to win at Dunfermline, and given the comments by our Scottish counterparts on here, maybe they willl be rushing around to take the 4.50 on offer with William Hill

On paper Athletico Madrid looks a massively strong bet to beat Recreativo De Huelva in the Cup tonight. Ladbrokes are bottom of the pile offering just 1.36, whereas Odds Alive go an amazing 1.60

all those mentioned above are my impressions on the set of odds issued by the bookmakers.

I was just trying to highlight teams that are offered at higher odds than most of the bookmaking fraternity see the odds.

After all both cannot be right

are on record as saying that Ladbrokes are one of the bookmakers which are most accurate at predicting Scottish Odds, so maybe them going so short on Dundee is a tip in itself

England:
Looking at their respective home and away records Middlesboro is the only justifiable bet at the odds available. Boeteng may his first game since coming back fron injury while Villa bring in a new loan signing from spain. I wouldn't say evens is outstanding value but worth a go in my opinion.

81% of Bolton's home games this season have finished X2 while Everton have acheived X2 is 50% of their away games .... giving an average of 65.5%, which is about what you can find offer if you look around for some nice odds. I reckon it'll probably finish either of X or 2, but the value is questionable so I pass. If anyone is fancying a bet on the home team 2.75 is definetely good value ... I just cant bring myself to it.

Going by the same rational in the Sunderland game we can see that the away side have about a 1.53ish chance of X2 .... playing about with the prices at betfair shows you can get 1.6 for it which is small value, but remember the 5% reduction . I'll have a wee go on Southampton X2 @ 1.6 but a great price it is not.

I have to support the X2 in the chelsea game too. Leeds are 10 points short of Chelsea in the league, which is mainly down to the results thay have been geting at home. I reckon the chance of X2 here is about 44% so again small value can be found in taking a mix of 5.7 for the Leeds win and 4.0 for the draw. Those with a fancy for value high prices Leeds @ 5.7 has to be tempting.

Scotland:
I think theres probably good value in Aberdeen @ 2.7 but just couldn't bring myself to bet on it. I also think this game stinks on Under 2.5 but wont be betting myself. Dont bet, sit back, watch and dont enjoy is my prediction.

I will be backing Dunfermline to win at home. They are always a team I look for when at home and the 8-1-3 home record should be stong enough to oppose the 1-5-6 away record of dundee. I have seen them play a couple of games this season and are definetely a good side at East End Park. Lee Wilkie and Nacho Novo have got slight knocks and if they miss out they will be a big loss as these are 2 of Dundee's best players. Scott Thomson is missing for the home side. Prices have been pushed up to 1.89 at Betfair which i have taken.

Middlesbro v Aston Villa under 2.5 @1.82
this looks good to me if for no other reason than that twenty of the forum members have predicted it in the 'time machine' thread.
Or is it that because that is the first match up nearly everyone(only one for the over) is overly cautious when picking scores.. interesting!

D(raw) Day

January 28 2003, 1:39 PM

I'll go for 3 draws in the Premiership today:

Bolton - Everton 3.30
Boro - Villa 3.35
Sunderland - Soton 3.35

Good prices all from Centrebet.

One draw needed for a small profit.

Good luck!

My bet tonight is Marseille nicely to beat Nice.
Jhim has already talked about the match in his double, so check it out!

In danish hockey there is a good bet on Aalborg to beat Odense. Odense have just played the cup final on sunday, they won, celebrated all night long and today they have a team of young players and reserves playing against Aaalborg.

I will never bet on those odds of Atletico Madrid. Recreativo are one of the in form teams in spain and their defense really is very good. No value in odds under 2.0 for home win. Rather try with draw as I see recreativo coming to madrid and trying to hold the game to 0-0. This year the normal game ended with 1-1 and also last year in segunda ATletico were not able to beat Recreativo.

I forgot also the Le Mans v Lorient game looks like a draw. Both teams will not risk much and settle for a goaless draw. Too much at stake to risk anything....

other fixtires ...

January 28 2003, 4:35 PM

England:
Reading v Leicester .... I have to say this is without doubt a definite no bet game. I make the odds to be 2.8 - 3.5 - 2.8 ... you dont get much closer than that. A very good piece of advice. do not bet!

Mansfield v Wigan .... A great price to be had on Wigan here. I dont usually bet on away teams at less than 2.00 but will here. Wigan should be closer to 1.6 in my opinion making 1.85 at BetInternet and others a very nice price.
