i have always found the english leagues to be most consistent and most profitable. Would be interesting to know what others find are most profitable and thoughts on why that is
English leagues could be very profitable for those who search for value bets on outsiders but also could be a disaster
for those that pick short-odds winners...
Greek league(as i 'm greek),it serie b,are the most profitable for me in the long run and austrian for this year thanks to Foxtrot's picks.
I agree that English leagues are a nightmare for punters although I managed to do some profit in EPL but I steer clear of lower divisions. I also avoid French leagues.
The most profitable leagues for me are Scottish, Belgium, Croatian and Slovenian.
there are alot of different responses.Division 3 is probably the hardest of the english leagues to bet on.I find the english league pretty consistent, especially in division 2, but personally i find the hardest league to bet on the french league, its a nightmare for me
Well, since all the bigger leagues have loads of information easily available on them and are thoroughly analyzed itīs very hard to find any really interesting odds there. If youīre initiated in a smaller league, one the bookies canīt know as much about, you definitely have an advantage. I personally prefer lower leagues swedish hockey.
Norway,Finland,(Yaro worked wonders for me in the summer)Bundesliga 1,2 last season, not satisfied this year.Germany 3 is very consistent(offered only by Austrian bookies especially the 'overs')Belgium and Portugal, Greece.
First a comment to benign_man about the lower German divisions.
This season, there are a few non-Austrian bookies that offer odds on the Regionalligas. Centrebet (they even do the Oberligas), Expekt, Scandic, Gamebookers (require trebles) and Globet at the very least. My memory isn't quite what it should be, but I do believe that either Nordicbet, Odds Alive or Unibet also have these leagues. But that may be wrong.
And then my observation. A quick look down the list gives me the impression that leagues where there are a lot of goals often get mentioned. Take this for what it is - just an observation. It may not be correct.
Finally, such a list would be more interesting if people were to indicate what types of bets they usually make. Someone looking for the longshots may find a certain league highly profitable, while someone preferring the shorter odds perhaps would have that particular league on his blacklist (shouldn't that be a redlist?)
For me, the Portuguese, French and Dutch top divisions are the best. The English leagues have been terrible lately. 2. Bundesliga was awesome last year, average this year. Lower Norwegian divisions may be a goldmine for those with inside information. Using only the results and tables I've had good experience with the lower Danish divisions, but Sweden is terrible. That does not only apply to the soccer, but any league I try to make a profit from. (Not only do the Swedish sports suck, but the restaurants too, by the way. Quite often they contain no tables where smoking is allowed. Bad people.)
I normally bet on odds from 1.8 - 3, but do not shy away from two-digit odds. Odds below 1.5 represent a no-go zone, unless I have some sort of weird project going on where I think I have discovered the Grand Unified Theory that will allow me to earn money by blindly following its picks. (And it seems I haven't.) Singles only. And I mean only.
