I had 2 picks sorted out for this weekend in Scotland but unfortunately one of them was called off along with some others.

I have one pick which is Ayr Utd @ 1.91 presuming the game will be on ..i will put up my thoughts for the game later, here are the games off so far....

Scottish football has once again been affected by freezing weather, with four games postponed already and pitch inspections planned for others.

In the First Division, Clyde's home game with Inverness Caledonian Thistle was called off on Friday afternoon.

In the Second Division Cowdenbeath's match with Stenhousemuir has also fallen foul of the weather.

Three games in the Third Division have also been postponed, East Stirlingshire's home game with Gretna, Montrose's match against Morton and Elgin's game with Albion Rovers.

Pitch inspections are planned for Queen of the South, Ross County and Forfar on Saturday morning and more matches are likely to be called off.

My Picks

from my other string

Saturday 1st Feb
Dundee United will play their first game under new manager Ian McCall against a slim Motherwell squad. Wells keeper Francois Dubourdeau is suspended, top striker McFadden is also banned and fellow strikers lehman and Kemas are injured. Great chance for Dundee United who lie one point behind Well who have not won in their last six visits to Tannadice.

Dundee United @ 2.38 UK Betting 100 points

Saturday 1st Feb
This bet simply has to be taken for the value on St Johntsone not to lose, odds of 2.00 for X2 is just totally miscalculated and also there is 4.75 for the single away win at Planet Pinnacle. There are too many x factors in this game to make the odds show in most bookies look anywhere near sensible. Falkirk have lost their manager and undergo this change which is one factor, it may or may not have a bearing. St Johnstone have a fit squad and also have several new signings who they could play including loan striker from Fulham, Midfielder from Dundee and Aussie keeper Miotto. The chances of an upset hear are very possible, St Johnstone have no option but to try and peg back Falkirk. By staggering your stake on the draw and the away win at Planet Pinnacle, evens can be achieved. (3.50 and 4.75)

St Johnstone X2 @ 2.00 Planet Pinnacle 100 Points

Good Luck

Just one bet for me in scotland this weekend. Hearts @ 2.1
Hearts have been pretty solid at tynecastle this season while dunfermline are pretty crap on the road. I'd put Hearts down at 1.91 making 2.1 good value enough for a bet
on a side note I was at the hibs - rangers game on wednesday and (sorry pete) Rangers were absolutely pish. I wouldn't recommend folk have them as bankers this weekend. Without Amoruso, Lovankrandas and Arteta they seemed to be a completely different side.

wouldn't disagree that they were rubbish on Wednesday Will

i watched the game and some of the play was dreadful..although when you play crap and still win 2-0 away from home you can only improve...Bonnissel will be on the bench today while Arteta and Thompson will be back fot Rangers ...Lovenkrands has a back injury while Amorouso is out with the head knock from last week.

Ferguson ...Ricksen and Arteta will play in the midfield with De Boer and Thompson up front.

AYR UNITED V ST MIRREN

Ayr are currently sitting 5th in Div 1 while St Mirren are sitting in 7th place ,Ayr have a pretty decent record at home this season with 4 wins 4 draws and 2 losses they have scored 16 goals at home while they have conceded 11 goals.

St Mirren have lost 6 games away from this season and new man John Coughlin doesn't have his troubles to seek his team have won 2 games away from a total of 10 this season.

They have conceded 25 goals away from home which shows there defence are really poor when put under pressure.

Ayr United will be without Ian Nicholson and Paul Lovering and St Mirren will play new signings Mark Roberts and Paul Hale who was signed from Rangers although don't read to much into that as he played for the u 21's..for me it is an Ayr win .

PICK : Ayr Utd @ 1.91 William Hill

Stranraer v Dumbarton

February 1 2003, 2:08 PM

How about a homewin in Stranraer v Dumbarton? William Hill seemes to be high with 2.10. (ladbrokes 1.73)

- H2H is 6-0-0 on Stair Park

Overall:
3. Stranraer 19 9 2 8
7. Dumbarton 22 7 5 10

Home:
3. ( 3) Stranraer 9 6 1 2

Away:
6. ( 7) Dumbarton 11 3 2 6

Form:
7. ( 3) Stranraer 6 2 0 4
8. ( 7) Dumbarton 6 2 0 4

Team news:
Dumbarton sold Mark Crilly to Stirling and Joe Robinson to Berwick this week. They have also bought Barry Donald from Queen of the South and Ian Russell has arrived on loan from Motherwell.

No injuries for Stanraer but Neil Duffy is out for Dumbarton.

(got all of this from a 3rd party source so I cannot guarantee its all 100%)

Anyone comments?
