... I try to stay away from this type of matches. A quick look at the England squad (no Seaman, not the most impressive list of potential goal scorers) as well as the two teams' results from 2000 onwards leads me to the following pick:
UNDER 2.5
If I have counted correctly, Australia has played 21 matches since 2000 (disregarding all matches against teams from Oceania; scorelines of 21-0 are not uncommon). 13 have gone under. For England, 18 out of 34 matches have gone under. I have not excluded any matches from their list.
So it's under for me. A strong English side in the first half. The Aussies will probably defend themselves. An inexperienced English team in the second half should entice the Aussies to go forward, get a goal, defend vigourously and successfully for the remainder of the match to win 1-0 and see Svennis off to Barcelona.

Okay, I couldn´t last a day, so maybe I should just shut up. But maybe it would be better to pick games with 0.5 goal handicap for the surviver. As it is in this one, there is little sense in picking the Under. 2-0 is the only result that is not also +1.5. Keep up this great competition!
