My view about this week’s games:
JANNINA- ARIS: Aris will be without his coach on the bench as he is suspended. They managed to win quite easy last week against Egaleo at home. This week they will miss 3 players(Knoper, Simic and Katsiaros). Both teams need to win for different reasons. Jannina wants to avoid relegation while Aris wants to continue to fight for an Uefa cup position next year. Most possible result would be the draw here, but I will stay away.
AIGALEO- PANAHAIKI: Aigaleo much better team than Panahaiki, but the latter, with the way they play in all their away games, managed to get 2 draws against Iraklis and Aris. I believe that they are going to follow the same system, meaning massive defense. The bad pitch of Aigaleo together with bad weather in Athens(which is expected to improve though) might help them to get something from this game. Home win very possible here, despite Aigaleo’s 2 absences. Panahaiki is in fact already relegated. 1.55 at GB is a fair odd without any value and I will prefer to stay away, mainly due to the pitch conditions. UNDER 2.5 is quite possible here and 1.85 is a good odd. (even if I don’t like under/over betting)
PROODEFTIKI- KALLITHEA: No comments- NO BET. Don’t like either of these teams.
PAOK- OFI: Both teams are in a hot run. PAOK has a strong motivation to participate in next season’s Champions league. They can not afford to miss the 3 points against Ofi. All their internationals returned fit after midweek’s friendly games, and only suspended defender Abonsah will miss. Ofi on the other hand with 2 players absent but with good morale and no stress, will go in Salonica to fight for the points. Their away performance so far is quite impressive and I think it will be tough for PAOK to beat them. Quite confident on OFI+1.5 @ 1.86.
IRAKLIS- PANIONIOS: I don’t know what to say about Iraklis. The team is totally crazy! They are capable for the best but for the worst as well! Even if the score against Olympiakos (2-1) shows that they were a tough opposition to beat, my impression is quite different. Their defence was awful throughout the game and were quite lucky to receive just 2 goals. Even when they drew and they were supposed to be more attentive in defense, they gave plenty opportunities to Olympiakos to score. I don’t trust this team. They will miss 3 suspended players from their main squad, as well as an injured one. A team to trust this year is Panionios. They play very good almost in every game and manage to gain the points quite easy. Perfect morale for Panionios who fights even for a champions league place for next season. This year those teams have met 3 times, with Panionios winning both games in Athens and their game in Salonika for the cup ended 0-0. No way I would bet on Iraklis. Panionios+0.5 @ 1.77 is my pick for this game, with average stake.
AEK- XANTHI: Plenty of problems for AEK this weekend. Important absences in the midfield, as apart from suspended Zagorakis, Katsouranis got injured also and will miss this game, as well as the game against Malaga for the Uefa cup. Keeper Chiotis is still injured, as well as defender Kapsis. That’s not all! Nalitzis and Georgeas are also suspended. Considering that Tsartas is not fit enough to play 90’ but also that Senteno is in his country, AEK has remained without any of their midfielder! Only Petkov is available, but he played for Bulgaria midweek and could be tired. Even without all these absences I would go for Xanthi +1.5 with great confidence. This will be one of my best bets and 1.95 is tooooo much. I don’t remember Xanthi losing with 2 goals difference for a long time. They only lost once away this season, 1-0 at PAOK, when they had a lot of absences too. Could even be a DRAW for the risky ones!
PANATHINAIKOS- IONIKOS: Another team having problems with their midfielders is Panathinaikos. They will miss suspended Basinas and probably Karagounis as well. Olisadebe is also doubtful. Henriksen and Michaelsen played 90’ and 87’ for their national team on Wednesday but they will both start. Panathinaikos is not going to risk any injuries as the game against Anderlecht is following! Also I don’t think that they will put much effort to this game for the same reason. Ionikos +2 is a very good choice, as I can’t see Panathinaikos winning with more than 2! 1.95 is good for me.
AKRATITOS- OLYMPIAKOS: Akratitos having many problems lately. 3 players absent due to injuries, while another 2 are doubtful. Olympiakos is clearly the better side here and should win easy. Olympiakos +1.5 @ 1.77 my choice.
NOTICE: Last 2 weekends we did not have any draw(if I remember well). That may mean something to some of you!
So my list of bets for this weekend from the strongest to the weakest is:
Xanthi +1.5 @ 1.95
Ionikos +2 @ 1.95
Ofi +1.5 @ 1.86
Olympiakos – 1.5 @ 1.77
Aigaleo- Panahaiki UNDER 2.5 @ 1.85
Panionios +0.5 @ 1.77
Hope good days will go on!
Odds are falling and falling...! Xanthi is no more available at GB, while the asian handicap for Ofi is now +1.25 and available for only 1.8! Panionios +0.5 is at 1.67 and Ionikos+2 at 1.91! Only Olympiakos is still available at 1.77 and i wonder why!

Opportunity and a half!!!!

Eigaleo-Panachaiki= Both horrible, visitors have gotten two ties from strong opponents in the last three weeks, but lost at home to Panionios, who at the moment are playing well. I would play the handicap on Panachaiki
Yiannena-Aris= Aris have many players missing, and are not what they used to be a few weeks ago. Their best player Niren scores a lot lately, but Yiannena will fight for this one. I would play under, and 1X.
Paok-Ofi= Everyone would say Paok, and I agree, but a cover bet on the draw is also a good take.
Aek-Xanthi= The bad news will not stop for this team, and Aek's downfall will continue. Odds for away win are ridiculous, and I don't think that Xanthi will win, but I would cover with a draw. Very tough game to predict.
Iraklis-Panionios= The derby of the agonistiki " Week " as we say in Greece. I see Iraklis winning here, last week with Olympiakos they were lucky only to lose 2-1. It is time for Iraklis to win a game, and Panionios to lose. You can only be so hot for so long before you falter. Panionios will lose. A cover with a draw is good also. Under here.
Panathinaikos-Ionikos= Karagounis is out of PAO, Olisadebe is questionable, and the most inform player of PAO Lymperopoulos will be playing after some doubts..The odds here are ridiculous, not even worth playing, just finding out the final score..Possible under, PAO will have difficulty finding the net without Karagounis in midfield.
Now, the steal of the week in my opinion is Prodeutiki-Kallithea= Prodeutiki are still looking for a chance to play in Europe, and are not far from the top place for Uefa. Kallithea stink, and this is an easy win!!? Confidence is 10 on this one. Odds are great!!
Hi mister judgemental. Nice to see someone else posting his opinion in here. I see that we agree in most of our predictions.(even if I don't agree with 10/10 confidence for proodeftiki)I prefer the asian handicap betting on the outsiders. Good luck!

Good to see someone with a nice opinion too...I like prodeutiki a lot, they had a big downtrend, and now they will rebound, that is greek soccer. Panionios has high hopes, but I the Gerard, Iraklis coach has something in mind, tha doume ( we see) haahahha
Hi guys. Nice thread. I just want to ask if you really think that Olympiakos -1 1/2 @1.77 is a good bet. Zeterberg has not played for some time now. I expect an away win but I am not sure if Olympiakos will beat the handicap. I would really like to hear your thoughts.
If you start with certainties you end up with doubts.
Well, Aris managed to win at 87' with a penalty, in a quite boring game. Draw should be the result here but ref had a different opinion! Aigaleo won easy struggling Panahaiki and one of my weak bets are lost! They managed to score in the 3rd and 15th minute and that was enough for Panahaiki to give up any effort to play their favorite massive defense system! Well, tomorrow is the big day! Well Wrath, I really think that Olympiakos will win easy tomorrow, on a very good pitch which he used also last week as home ground. Akratitos playing really bad lately and has many important absences. I still wonder why odds for Olympiakos have not dropped yet, while all the other picks I proposed have disappeared!(Today was ionikos' turn to disappear from GB)
Well not a bad weekend again after all! Even if Paok managed to score their second goal in the 94th (!) Minute of the game and after Ofi dominated and lost many chances. Aek won 3-2, Panathinaikos 1-0 (bad performance for my team and a normal goal cancelled for Ionikos in 92’!), Olympiakos 5-2, while on the other hand, Panionios conceded 2 goals in the second half while they were playing better than Iraklis. I expected more this weekend, but I am still satisfied as the strongest bets are in.
Xanthi +1.5 @ 1.95 WON
Ionikos +2 @ 1.95 WON
Ofi +1.5 @ 1.86 LOST
Olympiakos – 1.5 @ 1.77 WON
Aigaleo- Panahaiki UNDER 2.5 @ 1.85 LOST
Panionios +0.5 @ 1.77 LOST
The Inonikos goal was all right but in the first half, a penalty should have been awarded to Pana when an Ionikos defender stopped the ball with his hand.In the famous ET1 Sports Show with Karpetopoulos(who by the way is an Olympiakos fan)they had alos invited Hloros the young footballer, they all said there was no doubt whatsoever that it was a clear penalty.
So maybe the ref was correcting a previous error. And in all fairness Pana had the more chances and dominated the game as the represenative footballer of Ionikos admitted in the press conference after the game.
Hi benign! Nice to see you here. I was just about to mention the same thing, about the penalty not given for Panathinaikos. After all there was a great combination today with panatha's result! 3 points in the table and money in the pocket! I have to mention that Panathinaikos' performance was bad today (ok he dominated but that's normal). I am satisfied that we took the 3 points and I would worry if we played well before midweek's game against Anderlecht for the uefa cup. It's a matter of tradition!
And that sometimes doesn't mean a good show for the fans. But our opponents never ever tried to attack.Had it been an open game we would have thumped them.Still we had two glorious chances and we didn't convert.Konstantinou is rather nervous.
Considering Anderlecht,I am of the opinion, although it's a tough game, that we will win the first game with a score like 1-0 or sth and qualify either by drawing or winning narrowly there.Although I respect them, they
lack experience.I aom of the mind that the most mature team will win.
Good to know you've won.Keep it up and good luck in the future.
Benign what does the team preference of any reporter has anything to do with this. And if correcting a mistaken decision about a penalty with cancelling a goal is written in the rulebook, I have nothing more to say. Personnaly I would like to see PAOK take the championship because I am tired of big teams winning titles by making the rules as they go. Anyway this discussion can be very long but nothing can be said to convince me that two wrongs can make a right. Cheers
If you start with certainties you end up with doubts.
I just wanted to point out that Karpetopoulos is fair-minded despite being an Oly fan and ackowledged the penalty, that's all.
I know you will disagree ,but ater Bajevic left I believe PAO have been the best team in Greece.Your team was without doubt the best in the Bajevic era,but ever since he left you are gradually failing more and more. You are still strong ,but not what you used to be.On the other hand,Pana are getting better and better.
The thing is no team can be considered at a high level without a strong defence and although I quite like your strikers and midfield, your defence leaves a lot to be desired.I think the same applies for AEK nd PAOK.They can be impressive in attack but they concede as many goals. And since PAOK lose a lot of their power away, when playing strong opponents,I see PAO as the best candidate this year.
Not that we are faultless.Had we got a midfielder like Jorjevitch we would reign supreme. That's what we need.
As for Thilos I woild like them to take a lot of talented young players and build a powerful new generation of footballers. Some of your players are too old.Alexandris,Mavrogenidis,Amanatidis,e.t.c. these guys are grandpas.
