On any racing I prefer to concetrate on the daily All Weather offering plus the main jumps meeting of the day. Of course if there any major races elsewhere I do look them over as well, with the market likely to be strong.
Kempton 1.55 Hand Inn Hand looks worth laying in this one. Forecast favourite in the Racing Post, this looks a tough ask as he carries a 4lb penalty for previous successes. All his winning has been on genuinely soft ground as well so this good ground is most likely not to suit. There are strong rivals in Epervier D’Or and Scots Grey. Current Betfair price is 3.45.
Lingfield 1.10 A totally uncompetitive maiden race, but St Ivian is the choice to be stood in this race. Still a maiden after 12 starts there are others less exposed in the field which can surely improve past this one. He is not totally certain to be suited by 6f having done most racing at 5f. Current Betfair price is 4.10.
Lingfield 3.50 Aventura seems very short here, considering he is stepping up to a mile from 6f. The booking of Kieran Fallon and the fact that he is trained by Michael Jarvis who holds a 21% strike here at Lingfield, has obviously contributed to the contracted price. Current Betfair price 2.50.
Racing Post Chase Each Saturday I always find the main handicap race, a real challenge to unravel. But with a little consultation in analysing every component of form a lot of runners can be eliminated because they are either unsuited by the going, distance, up in class or just not in good enough recent form. Zafarabad trained by Philip Hobbs has had only the 2 runs this season, first time out he won a chase over course and distance, and looks as though as he has been held back for a spring campaign on this better ground. Timmy Murphy takes the ride which is no detraction from his chance although is probably classed as the stable 2nd string behind Gunther McBride. Currently trading at around 20.00 on Betfair is worth a very small interest with a saver on the place.
Isn't it always the case when you start publishing some picks that everything conspires against you. I'm going to go back and keep these picks to myself from now on.
i mentioned to back any Lucy Wadham horse no matter where they ran she only has a small sting of around 12 horses but always does well..she done well for me today with a 25/1 winner at Huntingdon.
i just presume others have read it Kenny..sorry about that..one for the a/w any A Jarvis horse at Lingfield last Saturday 20/1 winner he had 2 runners today but both lost..if you mail me i will give you a couple of others.
