Jhim's Weekend Picks

EVERTON to bt Southampton @ 2.00 (betinternet) 100 pts

Everton have a very good track record at home to the Saints, they have a fit squad and Southampton will miss Pahars, Delap and Bridges. Saints have lost 24 of 35 games at Goodison Park.

INVERNESS and JUVENTUS double @ 2.15 (premierbet) 100 pts

Inverness is a very safe bet for a win on Saturday in my opinion, with a fit team and Wyness up front firing on all cylinders they shoudl easily defeat Hamilton who miss two first team players. Juventus plays Como who have no home advantage as they stil play on neutral ground following a ban which prevents them playing at home. I do not think the flu virus which is affecting Juve will make much difference in this game, they have great depth in their sqaud and they still managed to score against Man Utd missing half their best players. Como will also miss important players in Cassia and Corrent.

BASTIA to bt Nice @ 1.91 (Ladbrokes) 100 pts

Bastia rather surprisingly have been the best for team in France for several weeks now, they showed this by keeping to form and beating Bordeaux away 2-0 last round. They have not lost in 6 matches and in the space of 3 weeks beat Auxerre, PAris and Bordeaux. Great form against Nice who have only one win in their last six games. As well as impressive wins over Nantes and Lyon recently Bastia are undefeated for 8 games.

PARIS ST GERMAIN to bt Guingamp @ 2.75 (centerbet) 100 pts

Paris have had some dissappointing results lately and need to make up, Guingamp have only 1 win and 5 losses in last six games and lost 5-0 to Paris earlier this season. Taking this odds as consider good value on a team who can turn on style when they want to.

BOLOGNA to bt Empoli @ 1.83 (Sportingbet) 100 pts

Bologna are a team playing under their full potential at the moment, they are a decent strong team in Serie A but their away form has been letting them down this season and they are still without an away win. In contrast though they have been good at home and have won 7 from their 10 home games. Both sides are without a win in six games and have poor recent form, but Bologna are the stronger of both if I had to choose, Empoli have lost their last three away games without scoring and conceding 6 goals.

LAZIO to bt Atalanta @ 1.70 (centerbet) 100 pts

Despite a bad result in UEFA midweek I think lazio will be keen to get back and answer this with a convincing win. They have to keep an eye on their position for europe next year and am sure they are very keen on the championship race, a loss this weekend could put them in danger of slipping too far away from the leaders as the top 3 all have a good chance to win. In Lazio's form this season I see 1.70 is not bad for them at home against Atalanta who although having a good spell have only two away wins and lost to Lazio at home this season already. Lazio defeated them home and away last season without conceding.

SOCIEDAD to bt Osasuna @ 1.75 (centerbet)100 pts

After doing so well fopr most of the season Sociedad really have to lift themselves this week and make a concerted effort not to waste all the hard work they have done. With Valencia coming into a period of form and Real getting stronger, Sociedad must pull some magic from the hat to keep both at bay, also if they do not win soon their confidence will be too much shattered. Considering they sre still two points clear of both the aforementioned teams at the top of Segunda Liga, I think 1.75 is still a good price on them against Osasuna, and I am not swayed by osasuna win over real last wekk as I mentioned on the forum before that game who had all missed training for Real that week and played internationals midweek. Sociedad are undefeated in last four matches against Osasuna and already beat them 3-2 at Osasuna this season. Despite their recent hiccups Sociedad have still only lost twice this season and are undefeated at home. This I am sure all the team will see is excellent opportunity to put the train back on the tracks. Also Sociedad only lost last week to a controversial late penalty award which is still causing waves around spain and between karpin and the Spanish FA.

GOOD LUCK ALL

you missed the 'has to be a fluke' part

Inverness was a banker, hamilton are many classes below an Inverness at home. Its more of a mismatch than any other game in the Cup.

I'll count it all up one of these days, around 10 or 11% yield I think.

Paris threw away a 2 goal bloody lead?????

Juventus 3-0 up, double is secure!!

Wow. Amazing comeback from Guingamp. Fernandez must be hung from Notre Dames.

If you start with certainties you end up with doubts.

February 22 2003, 6:07 PM

shameful, 2-0 up and all you have to do is efend when you get to that, but instead they throw 3 goals away, absolutely shocking!!!

Re: Jhim's Weekend Picks

February 22 2003, 7:06 PM

The problem in Paris right now is that they totally lack motivation- a new manager for 2003-04 season was already anounced (Halilhodzic from Rennes) and the players and Fernandez as recent coach dont know what will happen to them. Rennes also started to play awful again, since Halilhodzic anounced, he is leaving.
Such moves in the middle of the season are always bad for teams motivation.
Paris are crap!

Sundays Double

February 23 2003, 1:40 PM

Inter Milan should be a formality at home and Centerbet are giving over the average for both them and Sociedad which I think is a solid home win today, as said before Sociedad cannot afford to start stringing together bad games or the dent of their morale may become a much longer lasting bump! Inter can field a B team and win against piacenza, its a good time to bank on Inter goals in the league especially after signing batistuta who will want to show off at a new club and exisiting strikers who will not want to score less than him. Fairly confident with this double!!!!

INTER MILAN
REAL SOCIEDAD
Double @ 2.27
(Centerbet)

GOOD LUCK ALL
