The trick is to play a middle with Asian odds from Gamebookers and Bet365:

Stuttgart (-0.75) at 1.95 Bet365 (51.28 units to win 100)
Gladbach (+1) at 1.85 GB (54.05 units to win 100)

If Stuttgart win by 2+ :  -5.33   (+48.72 - 54.05)

If Stuttgart win by 1 :   +24.36  (+24.36 - 0)

If Stuttgart draw or lose:   -5.33 (-51.28 + 45.95)

 

This effectively means risking 5.33 units to win 24.36, giving odds of 5.57.
Pretty good when the normal odds are 3.70 GB for example.

And these odds get even better if you are a Silver/Golden member at GB and get a cashback.

For me this was an obvious home win and was a very strong pick for me today and like you i could not see Stuttgart winning by only 1 goal and the score line is close to what i would of expected based on form and stats!
Possibly i would of gone 3-0 but the sending off obvioulsy contributed!
