Clyde hope to retain their faint hopes of staying in the promotion race when they entertain relegation-haunted Alloa Athletic on Tuesday.
Bully Wee player-boss Alan Kernaghan is likely to stick with the same line-up that won 2-1 at St Mirren Park on Saturday.
Club captain Jack Ross started training on Monday following a rib injury but is not expected to be passed fit until the weekend, when Clyde will get the chance to narrow the gap with Falkirk.
Alloa had found a bit of form before defeat by the table-topping Bairns on Saturday.
And Kernaghan said: "We are as confident as we can be, but it will be a tough game.
"Alloa have had a bit of a resurgence of late and it certainly won't be an easy game for us."
Alloa manager Terry Christie is hoping to welcome back experienced former Hearts and Rangers midfielder Derek Ferguson to his squad.
The Wasps boss, whose side are seven points adrift of third bottom Ross County, is keen to make changes to his side after the derby defeat.
"It will be a hard, hard game for us and they gave us a right drubbing the last time we played them, but we have to do better than we did on Saturday because that game was very disappointing," said Christie.
Queen of the South v Inverness CT
Inverness Caledonian Thistle must overcome an in-form and pumped up Queen of the South if they are to maintain their promotion hunt.
John Robertson's side bounced back from their recent 5-1 derby destruction by Ross County to turn the tables on their Highland neighbours on Saturday.
But Queen of the South will also be on a high after their 1-0 away to Ayr United.
Manager John Connolly can stick by the same line-up and said: "I said before the Ayr game that two more wins would make us safe this season, so that was a massive game for us."
Brechin City hope the suspension of defender Paul Deas will not throw them out their stride as they attempt to consolidate their position in second spot in Division Two.
Dick Campbell's side stormed to a 5-1 win away to Forfar Athletic at the weekend.
The manager said: "It was a great result for us.
"We will take things a game at a time, but our away form has been very good, so confidence is high."
Emeka Obidile, Neil Duffy and Andy Brown all remain on the sidelines for Dumbarton.
The Sons suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Airdrie United on Saturday and manager Dave Winnie is hoping for an improvement.
"Saturday's game was disappointing and I thought we handed them their two goals, but this game gives us a chance to bounce back quickly and put things right again," he said.
Forfar Athletic v Raith Rovers
Forfar Athletic are hoping lightning does not strike twice as they play host to league leaders Raith Rovers.
Second top Brechin City crushed their local rivals 5-1 at Station Park on Saturday.
And manager Ray Stewart has suffered another blow, with striker Paul Tosh missing Tuesday's match with a hamstring injury, although defender Scott McCulloch returns from suspension.
Stewart said: "If we had taken our chances in the first 20 minutes on Saturday, it wouldn't have been five against us, but we were beaten by a side who took their chances.
"I wasn't that disappointed with our performance. I have only got so many players to play with and we have lost a lot of defenders this season.
"We are leaking goals at the wrong time and not taking our chances, but there is a good team spirit here."
Rovers manager Antonio Calderon's only fresh doubt is goalkeeper Raul Ojeda, who has picked up a knee injury.
The league-leaders earned a narrow 2-1 win over bottom side Cowdenbeath on Saturday.
"We lived on the edge at times on Saturday, but we played some nice football and the most important thing is that we are still at the top of the table," he said.
Cowdenbeath are still without three first-team players as they face Stranraer and start to run out of games to avoid relegation.
Midfielder Iain Mauchlen is still likely to be sidelined with a back injury, after missing Saturday's defeat against Raith Rovers, along with long-term casualties Hamish French and Willie Miller.
Cowden boss Keith Wright was encouraged despite defeat by the league leaders.
"We certainly produced a better performance against Raith Rovers than we had done in the midweek game against Hamilton, but this is another big game and we have to start winning games, starting from now," he said.
Stranraer manager Billy McLaren is likely to be without midfielder Stephen Marshall, who is struggling with a thigh strain, as they attempt to stay in the promotion hunt.
The Stair Park side's game against Stenhousemuir was postponed on Saturday.
And McLaren said: "All the players were very keen to play on Saturday and they're feeling a bit famished ahead of this game now."
Albion Rovers v Peterhead
Peterhead boss Ian Wilson is the one with the bigger headaches as third host second in Division Three.
Striker Iain Stewart has a knee injury, while defender Mark Perry will be checked for the effects of concussion.
But striker Martin Johnston returns after an ankle injury.
Wilson said: "I will just take advice from medical people over Mark.
But we have got players who can come in and do a job for us.
"This is a huge game for us and a win would be a major boost for our confidence as well as opening a gap on Albion."
Albion Rovers manager Peter Hetherston has a full squad from which to choose as the Coatbridge outfit aim to overcome the two-point deficit.
"This is a big game for us and it is important we keep up the pressure at the top," he said. "It is a big incentive to beat Peterhead.
"We had a couple of wins before the Gretna draw at the weekend, but we can give ourselves a huge boost with a win to move into the promotion places."
Stirling Albion hope to sign goalkeeper Myles Hogarth in time to face promotion-chasing Morton.
Injuries mean Albion have only Anton Nugent for that position.
And Stirling boss Allan Moore hopes that Alloa Athletic will release Hogarth in time for him to be registered at Forthbank.
"We need back-up for Anton and we are trying to get Myles from Alloa if they can release him, but we have had a bit of trouble getting it set up," said Moore.
"But we will have it sorted and we are confident it will go through for us.
"We have only got one keeper at the moment and our Under-18 centre-half was the sub goalie on Saturday because he looked the part."
Stirling manager Allan Moore is hopeful midfielder Colin McKinnon is fit for the trip to Greenock.
McKinnon took a leg knock before the weekend win away to East Stirlingshire.
Morton boss John McCormack can keep his side intact after victory away to Queen's Park.
McCormack admits that returning to the club he left earlier this season was a nerve-wracking experience.
"There was a wee bit of pressure returning to Queen's Park for Saturday's game, but I was very pleased with that result," he said.
Falkirk's management duo get the chance to continue their recent good form with an unchanged side for the trip to Dingwall.
The side led by John Hughes and Owen Coyle arrive on the back of a derby victory over Alloa Athletic that maintained their five-point lead over St Johnstone in the First Division title race.
Hughes said: "It's all about results now. We are top of the league and we just have to keep focused on what we have to do."
Inverness Caledonian Thistle gained revenge on County at Victoria Park after their recent derby thrashing.
And County boss Alex Smith has the additional problem of having to give a late fitness test to Steve Ferguson.
The midfielder picked up a calf strain at a time when his side are desperate for points to stay clear of second bottom Alloa Athletic in the relegation zone.
Smith said: "We have to play all the top clubs just now, so it's a big week for us.
"But, if we want to take something from the game, we will have to play the way we did against Inverness a couple of weeks ago when we had a good result against them."
Hamilton Accies v Airdrie Utd
The Lanarkshire derby takes on an added significance at New Douglas Park on Tuesday, with only three points separating two relegation-threatened sides.
Second-bottom Hamilton Academical are the ones trying to do the catching.
And player-boss Chris Hillcoat could receive a boost for the visit of Airdrie United from the possible return from injury of striker Brian McPhee and defender Eddie Cunnington.
Hamilton suffered a narrow defeat against Berwick Rangers on Saturday, but Hillcoat was not displeased with their display.
"It wasn't so much the performance that was disappointing on Saturday, but the result," he said.
"We're really just looking for a result that matches our performance this time."
Airdrie's one injury concern is midfielder David Dunn, who is rated only 50-50 by manager Sandie Stewart with a foot injury.
But striker Paul Ronald returns to the side after a virus.
Stewart said: "Another couple of wins could determine what we are playing for at the end of the season.
"Until then, there is no talk either way of promotion or relegation.
"We are not far off anything in the middle of the table as we are, but a couple of victories in the next two games against Hamilton and Cowdenbeath could make all the difference."
