Sampdoria won 2-0, keeping my bets alive. That's 14 self-created Asian Level Ball bets in a row, (started with 100 units, current balance 421.69, have withdrawn 300 units), but of the first 12 only one was posted here on this forum. So the official balance for the non-believers should read 113.65 units.
Not too much tempting on Tuesday, but I have picked this one:
DARLINGTON - Cambridge
Gamebookers offers 2.2 for a home win, and 3.4 for the draw. 80.22 units on Darlington and 33.43 units on the draw should make a nice Asian 0:0 bet. (My real bets were 297.66 units on the home win and 124.03 on the draw)
Two teams that that will figure on next year's fixture list for this division meet, both coming from an away loss to better teams. York took care of Cambridge, while Bournemouth rests in the final direct promotion spot due to their 2-0 defeat of Darlington.
Both managers seem truly pissed off by their team's performance; the harshest words coming from the Darlington bench. I expect both teams to try to avoid defeat at all costs, so the money back guarantee the draw offers is highly recommended.
Still, Darlington seems to have the edge formwise lately. They recently beat York 2-1 (who again beat Cambridge on Saturday), and while football isn't mathematics, this fact could bring some confidence back into the team that more or less kissed their playoff dreams goodbye on Saturday.
Darlington have lost 4 of 17 home matches, Cambridge have won 4 of 17 away matches.
The last two home matches have seen Darlington snatcheing four points from the likes of York and Hartlepool - not bad. Their opposition the last five matches have all been teams placed higher than Cambridge on the table. Three of these matches have been away matches, and they have only lost one of these five matches. All in all, they are in decent shape.
Not so for Cambridge, who have scrambled together two points during the last month. Defeats at Swansea, York and a home loss to Torquay, coupled with a draw at Hull and at home to Rochdale just isn't good enough.
Cambridge miss their defender Tann for the second match running due to a suspension, still have their defender Duncan and midfielder Bridges out due to injuries. These are old injuries, the small squad did unfortunately not pick up any new injuries this week end. They will probably field the same team as in the last game.
One change for the Quakers, Gary Pearson is suspended. Other than that, an unchanged team is expected.
As far as I know, that is. Feel free to fill me in.
This is a classic example of a game that would not have been my pick of the day were this a Saturday. But it (Saturday) isn't, and this (my pick) it is. Covering my bet with a draw does not seem a bad idea at all. By creating your own Asian handicap like I did above brings the effective odds on a home win down to 1.55. (Money back on draw).
Seeing that one of the antagonists hail from a very high-brow place, we end tonight's session with a bonus question on "Usefuel stuff about Science everyone should know".
How many medium sized nuclear bombs would it take to raise the temperature of the pacific Ocean with one degree Celsius? Let's ignore such trivialities as water evaporating at ground zero and the probable destruction of the planet if the experiment was to be carried out. (the science nerds can assume that the Pacific has a volume of 7.2 x 10^8 km^3, and that a medium sized nuclear bomb gives off 10^15 J when it goes BOOOOOM!)
Answers on a postcard, please. The winner will receive 10 virtual points and an envelope filled with anthrax. Or a cookie. He can choose.
(I'll post the right answer tomorrow, if there's any interest.)
but i will set my own rules for my bets, i willl not play under 1.33 but upwards there is no limit. I will only play homes unless under certain circumstances or good reason for an away win or no lose..... and if possible I will only play in Scotland matches as here I am not losing. looking at possibilities just now.
OK, I am starting with NBA, Chicago v Lakers, Away, 1.35
Thi used to be a cracker in the past, not today, thou. Chicago is slowly improving, perhaps they can make a decent team in years to come, but at the moment they have no weaponry for Shaq and Kobe.
100 units @1.35!!
I was lucky enough to see the Lakers beat Philly last night and I hope you'll get off to a good start with this. Shaq was awesome against Philly, and there seems to be very high confidence with all the players.
Are these odds from a local bookie, as all my online ones don't show odds a day in advance for NBA ?
Second try for me too... I'll change the bookie this time and try not to bet on the english league, maybe that will bring me luck! Oddsalive is the new bookie and my first pick.....
Had my first pick on Portsmouth not to lose tomorrow but will now kick off with a match tonight with all winnings going on Portsmouth tomorrow(confident or what!).
adding to what has already been posted by Jhim on the Morton v Stirling game.
Morton have won the last 3 of these fixtures at home.
Strong home record lost only once in 12 outings.
Morton have played their last 5 all away losing only once.
last home game was 1-1 with league leaders East Fife.
AJAX 1X 1.495 (100 points)
Ajax nearly got 3 points at Mestalla, but Valencia equalised late. Ajax is an underrated team, they have many good young players and have had many good results this year. If they win tonight they're in the quarterfinals, they are undefeated in this round and van der Vaart made his comeback last game and scored 2 goals, same as Ibrahimovic.
Valencia is hard to beat, but they had a shocking result against Roma (0-3), and will probably be satisfied with a draw tonight because then they will have everything in their own hands when they play Arsenal at home in the last round.
I've been following this double chance stuff, and so far, it looks awful value for the high strike rate you need to make it pay.
I think Asians are still the value, and only Valencia really tempts me tonight. Can't see them losing against the novicey Ajax. Should be far too clever for them.
Sorry for late responce jbhoops, aes these are from my Slovenian bookie, my bets are always with their odds since I bet only at them. They give odds for basket 2 days in advance, used to give them whole week in advance before, obviously noticed it is not clever.
REAL MADRID 1X @ 1.148 (149 points)
Real can't afford to lose today, Milan has nothing to play for in this game. I strongly feel Real will win this, but will cover with a draw.
I give up, momentally, Lakers are crap, as I already said before, I have all sorts of problems with my trebles, so perhaps I will join this thread again in some time, first I need a new staking plan for my comeback to days of glory...
I appreciate your efforts and wish you luck with your tips but I think you need an example that will motivate you and keep you going
Here is a link http://www.betting-corner.com/tips_pejti.htm to one of the tipsters in competition I am running that managed to get 15 straight wins in a row with an average odds @1,36. As you can see it can be done. Hope you can manage it too.
I hope its ok with you Jhim and Mark that I posted a link. If not, then delete my post freely but I think it can be of some use, cheers
I answered it myself, it is not oingoig, but 15 in a row is cool, if he let his stakes ride onto each one and if the starting bank was 100 pts he woudl have had
9505 points
And it is very interesting to note pick number 16 in a row which lost was EVENS, can only wonder how far it woudl have gone if he had hit a lower odds game?
I think he could go further but in my opinion he got very confident about his picks (who wouldnt) and decided to hit higher odds in order to improve his position. Unfortunately he failed but sure has a weapon to strike back.
Now that he has gone back to his winning style he hit some winners again. A little teaser: he managed 15 wins in a row with straight picks now can any of you repeat his streak with double chances? Anyway, well done Pejti.
Legia have won all 6 home games in a row and only conceded one goal and won by 3 or more in each game! And won almost all away games. Sounds like easy money to me!!
4-2 up at half time, wish I made a new string about this game as it did look like a banker at 1.50. Still 45 mins to goyet, better keep my mouth shut!!
Legia wins again against Amica, and I am up to 208.5 points, will I be able to break that 3 match barrier, will put Saturday pick up later and I may be taking Celtic not to lose on Sunday.
Barca are inconsistent and I have not bet on them for some time, and only in moments of madness, they are on my blacklist and best on most peoples blacklist in the long run imo
10points Sheff United 2X @ 1.37(laying Stoke at 3.7)
Sheff Utd can if they win their 2 games in hand put pressure on Leicester for the automatic promotion spot to the Premier(Leicester still have to visit Bramhall Ln)and with the confidence running high after seeing off Leeds last week should take something if not all from the visit to the potteries.
Sheffields away record is bettered only by Portsmouth whereas Stoke have only won 6 from 18 on home soil.
Sheffield have taken something from the last 9 league meetings between the two.
L Hewitt vs V Spadea @ 1.12 223.09pts
7-6 6-1 WIN!
Pick 7
Betfair are offering an inplay market on the rain suspended Kuerten vs Schuettler match. Kuerten won the first set 6-2 and looks good to make the final.
13.7 points Chelsea 2X @ 1.21 (laying West Brom @ 5.7)
Chelsea need to go out and get something today to maintain their quest for a Champions league place, coming off two defeats to quality opposition, Blackburn and Newcastle, should take at the very least a point from West Brom who look well and truly doomed and will be playing only for pride.
I lost a lot of money because of Kendrick the week before last in Delray Beach, beating Koubek, Lisnard and Voltchkov and i'll expect him to easily beat Gross.
Wimbledon no changes to the side that beat Millwall, look to be getting a nice run going, beaten Portsmouth and Reading recently, Palace should not prove as difficult.
Will start a new accie on overs and unders, have tried this before but we'll see where this one goes.
Ipswich v Reading.going under@ 1.85(laying the over @ 2.18) both bets at Betfair.
looks a tight game 1-0 either way or 0-0,1-1 draw.
REAL MADRID 1.38
This is, as everyone knows if not a must win, then close to it (if Real dont win Milan mustn't lose), Real are the best team in the world, they have good form and this is the most important game of the season, yet. I can't see them failing to go through, as I think they will win Champions League this year.
25.7points on Manchester United v Fulham Home win.
@1.29 Canbet.
this is one bet that I wanted to empty my accounts onto but have done enough reckless betting this season already.
will be watching it live at mates house(bitter blue, can't wait, will be singing quietley to meself 'United, United top of the league, United top of the League' .well until Sunday anyway!
the under/over accie didn't get off the ground(Ipswich, can't score against a poor Stoke team then bang in 3 against Reading, can't weigh it up sometimes)will try one more time, then that's it, no more.
Newcastle v Blackburn over 2.5 1.9@Betfair.10 points, seperate bet and stake from main accie.
Blackburn proved last week they can score against the top teams and Newcastle will want to put the Barca result behind them with a positive performance, can see a couple of goals for each team in this game.
Im surprised noone is going for Stuttgart (1.45) at home to Nürnberg. I had the dubious pleasure of seeing a few Nürnberg matches last month and they were awful. Even the chairman, players and fans are resigned to relegation.
Well done on the picks, exiled!
read all your people efforts on here and they are excellent!
Great stuff lads and well unlucky Doogie getting to 12 is ace in its self!
I tried once and failed maybe jojn in and have a go
Bluekoba i hope unlike me you didnt back Stuttgart as they currently are 2 down to Nurnberg!
Saying that it is on Livescore which means Stuttgart could be 2 up LOL
I hope they come back
O'neill has gone down afew pegs in my estimation of the man,I don't have a problem with him playing an understrength side but why didn't he make it known to the media,I went to the BBC soccer site90 min before the kick off and the preview stated that when asked if he had any players with injuries he said that they must be hiding them well, no fuckin mention of playing a weakened team, now this could be understandable if they were taking on a top Scottish or European team and wanted to play mind games with his counterpart but it was Inverness for fucks sake, what was the man scared of, why wasn't he upfront about his selection, after losing one cup to Rangers i'd have thought his priority was to make sure they didn't take the other one.
His decision to play that team must have made bookies across the globe millions, let me put that another way, his decision to play that team without making his intentions known has made bookies across the globe millions because I for one out of probably thousands wouldn't have touched it. and I'll be very disappointed if his name is mentioned in connection with Old Trafford again, unless it's managing the programe sellers.
Having got that off me chest, I'll say again what I've been saying for years, the sooner Inverness Caledonian Thistle are allowed in the EPL the better, .
back to it.
18.5 points(returns less comm from Newcastle over)bank
Brighton v Palace.1X @1.35(layin Palace@3.85)18.5points
Brighton are trying to battle themselves out of the relegation zone and have had some good results at home, they go into this after a good result at an in form Ipswich where they were unlucky not to collect the three points. Palace are in a safe position and according to the BBC site are struggling with a few injuries.
24 points Torquay v Boston 1X @1.26(laying Boston@4.8)
Torquay(9th)have lost only 2 from 19 at home, won 2 from the last 6(both away) drew the other 4, will be looking for a win here to carry them into the play off group. can not afford to lose.
Boston(19th)have won only 2 on the road from 19,won only 1 from last 6,at home to a 16th placed Darlington 1-0.
Charlton v Leeds over 2.5, 29.9points @2.00 at Betfair.
Charlton have averaged 3 goals a game over the last 10,their last 3 have all come in less than 2.5 but have been against stronger opposition than Leeds(Boro, Arsenal,Newcastle)who have had over 2.5 in their last 4(losing all).Charlton have a chance of a Euro spot and Leeds will be looking to get away from the relegation zone.
Last post should have read 'Leeds 3' must of been the shock of them scoring 3 away without reply and possibly the affect of slightly too much emu bitter (well it was 10.40pm when the game was on here)
ok,game well over,bank now 58.3points after commission
Adanaspor v Fenerbahce. 2X @1.28 laying Adanaspor 4.5
Fenerbahce are going through a lean spell and are getting plenty of criticism from fans and media, this game should give them the chance to regain some credibility.
Fenerbahce have lost once in the last seven league meetings with Adanaspor and this season have lost 3 from 11 away from home.
Adanaspor have won 3 from 13 at home this season.
GL.
